There is something so beautifully romantic about a Woodstock winter engagement session, especially when it happens on a crisp Sunday morning with the sun glowing over fresh snow.
Annet and Wesley’s engagement session was the definition of wintery and timeless. The temperature sat at a brisk minus 20 degrees, but you would never know it looking at these two. The sun was shining, there was no wind, and the entire morning felt calm, quiet, and almost magical. That golden sunrise light against the snow created the dreamiest glow.
A Love Rooted in Agriculture and Family
Annet works in finance within the agriculture industry, and Wesley is a dairy farmer. Annet actually grew up on a dairy farm, which makes their story even sweeter because that same farm will be where they say their vows this coming September. Their roots run deep, and you can feel that sense of home and legacy in the way they are together.
Their Woodstock winter engagement session felt especially meaningful, knowing how connected they are to the land and to family. There is something incredibly grounding about photographing a couple whose story is tied so closely to where they come from.
A Perfect Minus 20 Sunrise
This Woodstock winter engagement took place on one of the coldest mornings of the season, with temperatures sitting at minus 20 degrees. And yet, it could not have been more perfect.
With no wind and a glowing sunrise breaking over the horizon, the light wrapped around them in the most romantic way. Winter sessions require a little strategy, so we kept things moving, worked efficiently, and made sure they were never standing still for too long. The result was effortless, joy-filled images that feel warm despite the temperature.
Feeling Natural and Timeless
I was connected to Annet and Wesley through a past client who is a friend of theirs, and referrals like that mean the world to me. When they told me they were excited to join the AVP family because my photos feel natural and timeless, my heart just melted.
That is always my goal during every Woodstock winter engagement. I want my couples to feel fully present, fully themselves, and completely confident that their memories are being preserved in a way that will never feel trendy or dated.
Here is what they shared after their session:
“We had the best experience with Amanda during our engagement shoot. She made us feel so relaxed from the start. Nothing felt stiff or awkward. She created such a fun and easygoing atmosphere that we were able to be ourselves.
Our engagement session was during a freezing minus 20 degree day and somehow Amanda made it feel magical. She kept our energy up, worked efficiently so we were not standing in the cold for too long, and still managed to capture the most incredible shots.
We are even more excited about our big day knowing we are in such good hands. We cannot recommend Amanda enough.”
Sessions like this Woodstock winter engagement remind me why I love what I do. It is not just about pretty photos. It is about connection, trust, and creating an experience that feels effortless even when it is minus 20 outside.
Annet and Wesley, I am counting down the days until your September wedding on the farm. It is going to be so meaningful, and so full of heart.
