Jailyn and Eric are expecting TWIN BOYS, and they chose to celebrate this beautiful season of anticipation with the most perfectly “them” Norfolk County maternity session. Think cowgirl boots, cowboy hats, warm golden sun, and their two horses, Lightning and Libby, standing quietly beside them. It was nostalgic, country, and full of heart.
Norfolk County Maternity Magic: A Country Love Story Nine Years in the Making
This session meant even more to me because I have known Jailyn for years through horses. We used to show at the same farm, and way back in 2016 I photographed her with her pony, Lightning. Fast forward nine years… and there he was again, standing proudly beside her as she carried her twin boys.
If that is not full circle, I do not know what is. 🥹
The farm in Norfolk County is not their home, but it is a place that holds history for me too. It is where I used to ride, and coming back for something this meaningful felt incredibly special. The wide open fields, rustic fencing, and soft country backdrop could not have suited them better.
Horses, Ultrasounds, and Twin Heartbeats
Horses are not just a hobby for Jailyn and Eric. They are part of their story. Including Lightning and Libby in their maternity session was such a natural choice. They both leaned fully into the country vibe with boots, hats, and relaxed, easy smiles.
One of my favourite details was when they pulled out their ultrasound photos. Seeing those tiny images held up against a glowing sunset while their horses stood nearby was the sweetest, most sentimental touch. Two little heartbeats, already so loved.
The entire evening felt warm and full of anticipation. The sun was glowy and soft. There was excitement in the air. Gratitude. That quiet, beautiful pause before life changes forever. This Norfolk County maternity session captured all of that perfectly.
The Sweetest Sideline Moments at This Norfolk County Maternity Session
Partway through the session, I turned around and spotted Jailyn’s mom and her best friend standing off to the side helping with the horses. Both of them were tearing up just watching her.
Watching someone you love step into motherhood is powerful. Watching someone you love carry twins while absolutely glowing in the golden light? Next level. It was such a tender moment that added even more meaning to the day.
Just Relax and Soak It In
One thing I always tell my clients is that there is no possible way to mess up your photos. Truly. My job is to guide you, help you feel comfortable, and encourage you to just be yourselves.
With Jailyn and Eric, that meant leaning into each other, laughing, letting the horses nuzzle in, and simply enjoying this chapter. The best images always happen in those in-between moments. The soft smiles. The forehead touches. The quiet laughter.
This session was cowgirl and country, yes. But more than anything, it was about love. About history. About growth. About two tiny boys who are already so incredibly blessed.
