The small towns and villages in the Kitchener and Stratford area are known for their big stone houses, acres of rolling meadows and grasses, and breathtaking farm country.
When Hannah and Kaleb informed me that their wedding would be taking place on Kaleb’s family farm, I instantly was soooo excited!! Y’all know how much I love those farm weddings! What makes it even better is that the property has been in their family for several generations. What better place for Kaleb and Hannah to get married than that?
While I was expecting typical farm-like scenery when I arrived in the morning, what I saw when I stepped out of my car was dream-like. A hilly field with hip-high wildflowers stretched beyond the yard of their centuries-old home, an old stone foundation and silo of a barn was tucked behind some cedar trees, and the pathways the lead through the fields felt like something from Anne of Green Gables!
Their wedding day was the hottest one we’ve had so far this year- 40 degrees with humidity and no breeze 🥵 Thankfully Hannah’s dress was a lightweight gown from David’s Bridal. The day started out with Hannah getting ready in the house, and Kaleb getting ready at his great grandmother’s house on the other side of the farm.
Their wedding day was exactly as they said it would be on their invitations- “Nothing Fancy, Just Love”
Hanah and Kaleb’s wedding was as simple as it was beautiful. The florals created by Theresa Brouwer were stunning, and the blue thistle in the bouquets matched Hannah’s bridesmaids’ dresses perfectly. Kaleb and his groomsmen looked dapper with their white rose boutonnieres.
The couple shared their first look in the garden near the front porch of the house, something they specifically told us they wanted when we met up before their wedding day. We then did wedding party photos, family pictures, and then it was time for the ceremony! And just wait until you see the sweetness that happened 😍
Kaleb’s grandmother and great-grandmother were lovingly tasked with being their “Flower Princesses”- and did they ever do an amazing job spreading flower petals down the aisle!! These two clearly loved their job!! And I think we should be asking our grandmothers more often to have the honour of being the Flower Girl!! Just look at their smiles!!
Hannah and Kaleb’s vows were emotionally raw and so beautiful. After being together for eight years, their love for each other is irrevocable. Hannah was so choked up while speaking her vows, she could barely make it through one sentence. Just looking at Kaleb made her break down into tears.
These two are the sweetest couple, and I am so happy that we have gotten to know each other over the past year and a half! I can’t wait to get to know them more as they go through life together and fall even more in love ❤️
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Ives!
