Mike and Danielle’s wedding was a whirlwind of joy, happy tears, and the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto!
There are a plethora of stunning and unique wedding venues in the GTA, from wineries and breweries to golf clubs and old estates! These types of venues make for the prettiest bright and airy wedding photos with a romantic backdrop.
Despite their wedding taking place in the downtown core of Toronto (literally at the base of the CN Tower and the Rogers Centre!), there were many subtle hints of the country and of Norfolk County! I just loved that they added rustic elements into their choices! It looked so cool with the industrial vibe that Steam Whistle gives off!
Many of the professionals are local to Toronto, but the DJ (Jordan of Black Creek Music), the florist (Lisa of Fleurs de Lise), and I all traveled from Norfolk to help make Mike and Danielle’s day one to remember! As much as I love to explore new venues, it was nice to feel like I was home in Norfolk.
The day started out at the Delta hotel where Mike and Danielle got ready (in the biggest hotel suite I’ve EVER seen- complete with a whole kitchen!). I looked out of the floor-to-ceiling-length window and was in awe at how close we were to the CN Tower- so close that I literally couldn’t see the top!
After doing a first look with her dad in the suite, we were all off to Steam Whistle for the first look with Mike!
The rest of the day flowed flawlessly from there! We did wedding party, family, and couple’s portraits around the outside of the brewery, which made the COOLEST backdrop! I am not used to having to deal with the sun reflecting off of skyscrapers, or having pedestrians constantly in the background of photos 😂 Can you tell I’m a country girl?!
Mike and Danielle’s reception was suuuuper laid back. They opted for an hors d’oeuveres style dinner, and their guests could sit wherever they pleased! And for the first time in two years, I witnessed people DANCING (!!!!!!!!!) at a wedding!!! Seeing their guests have the time of their life gettin’ down on the dance floor made this wedding feel like a fresh start.
Danielle and I have known each other for nearly a decade, so when she asked me to be her photographer and get to spend pretty much the whole day with her and Mike, I was instantly so excited. Being the wedding photographer for people who are special to you just makes the wedding experience that much more unique for both of us!
My favourite part of their wedding day was getting to create beautiful images in a setting that is sooo different than what I’m used to! I’m not sure if I’ll ever have the opportunity to photograph a wedding like this again, and I definitely loved every minute of it!
Congratulations Mike and Danielle!!! I am so happy for you two to be starting your lives together as husband and wife! Thank you so much for asking me to be your photographer ❤️

Wow, I just went through all your photos and loved them!
Some brought tears to my eyes, like when your dad saw you for the first time, and then the emotional hug! Took me back to living next door to you, little Danielle, and listening to her, not listening to her swimming instructor! I would laugh!
Again, I teared up when Rebecca and you had that loving hug between to sisters! Then, the father daughter dance! So much love in your family. I wish you that same powerful love! ❤️
The outdoor wedding ceremony was beautiful. The weather was perfect. The bride and groom looked happy. The indoor reception was lovely too. Everyone looked to be having a great time.Congratulations to Danielle and Mike.. May they and their daughter have a happy life.
